Ang mommy-to-be, kailangan nga bang kumain for two (for mommy at for baby)?

Ang wastong pag-bigat ng timbang ni mommy habang buntis ay maaring makatulong sa development ni baby, upang siya ay magkaroon ng healthy weight gain at birth, hanggang sa kanyang paglaki.
Ideally, hindi kailangan ng extra calories during the first 3 months of pregnancy para sa mga mommy na may healthy weight na bago pa man mabuntis. Pero sa mga huling buwan ng pregnancy, kailangan ng 300-450 extra calories. At sa unang 6 months ng lactation, kailangan ng extra 500 calories per day.
